Short answer: only if you choose a hardwired mirror. Plug-in LED mirrors need no electrician at all — anyone who can drill two holes can install one. Hardwired mirrors (concealed wiring, no visible cord) need a qualified electrician for about 30–45 minutes of work.
When you do NOT need an electrician
If your LED mirror is the plug-in type, installation is just: mark the drill points, fix the wall brackets, hang the mirror, plug it in. Every LightMirror.in mirror ships with a template, wall plugs and screws.
When you DO need an electrician
- You want concealed wiring with no visible cord (hardwired)
- There is no socket within cord reach and you want one added
- You are connecting the mirror to an existing wall switch
What does the electrical work cost in India?
A typical electrician visit for mirror hookup costs ₹300–₹800 in most Indian cities. If a new socket point must be added, expect ₹500–₹1,500 depending on wall type and wiring distance.
Safety notes for bathroom installation
LED mirrors run on a low-voltage driver (12V/24V), so they are inherently safer than mains fixtures. Still: keep the driver and plug outside the shower splash zone, and make sure the circuit has an ELCB/RCCB — standard in any modern Indian home.
